Leaving our beloved Melbourne is like leaving home all over again. While it may be a tough decision to make, it's the right one. Hopefully the transition to Sydney will be smooth with the two of us quickly landing on our feet! The Big Adventure isn't just about one place it's about becoming 'A World Explorer' in search of amazing places with incredible people.

Luckily enough we got rid of so much stuff otherwise we would have been over at the airport. All our bags feel so much better. They are so light particularly our hand luggage. Some difference. Everything at the airport seemed hassle free. There wasn't any queuing and I was the first to board the plane. Myself and Jason even had one of the exit rows to ourselves. We are like VIP's! Here's to a new adventure! Let's just hope it's a good one!

As we knew we would be arriving into the city during a busy time, we were clever enough to book accommodation well in advance. Luckily we did as it's so much nicer just going straight there from the airport. To be fair, 'Bounce Sydney' Is more of a hotel than a hostel. It's expensive but a little bit of luxury goes along way. Myself and Jason have become really good friends with an English couple, Ashley and Alex, and Lee, from London who have all just arrived in Oz. There all really nice. Lee is extremely easy going. Before Jason and I got together, his mam thought he was the most easy going person in the world. That was until she met me. Lee is even more chilled out than both of us which is a huge feat in itself.

Over the last couple of weeks, we have been on holiday mode. While our wallets have been trimmed back, I can't say the same for our waistlines. We decided to, or shall I say I decided to go on a seven day detox. It was quite tough, but I think Jason found it a lot harder than me. I'm surprised he lasted as long as he did. It's only one week and I would probably do another one again. Though I think I might regret saying that. As long as your disciplined during and after, it is worth it. As for Jason, he may have stuck to it, but with hardly any will power, it leads to a bit of dilemma. Oh well! It might be time for another one soon!

As much as we really liked staying in Bounce, it's simply way too expensive, forcing us to downgrade to 'Hump Backpackers' at the rather more interesting area of 'Kings Cross.' It will do the job for a couple of weeks. Past that, I don't think so! For now, it's fine.

When it comes to work, I've been very lucky. My agency has given me consistent work with multiple companies working on different projects each week. Most of the roles involved crazy long hours. Once I'm getting paid, I'm a happy bunny especially when it involves overtime. I might not have been too impressed when I had to work late on St. Patricks night, but I did get a great view of the fireworks over the harbour. So that more than made up for it!

After been confined to hostels for God knows how long, we decided to try and get a private room on 'Airbnb.' We eventually were fortunate to find a place in 'Stanmore' sharing a house with two friends in our very first 'Gaybourhood.' The house was nice and the two women were very friendly but they weren't the cleanest especially when it came to cleaning their dishes. Luckily for us, our room was nice and comfortable. Did I miss my bunk bed? Hell no! Trying to dry clothes with no dryer and in horrible, miserable weather is certainly frustrating. Especially when you have all your clothes on display in your room for over a week as you wait for them to dry. While we were happy there, the place was far from perfect! When it came to extending our stay, the room was already taken even though we were not asked if we wanted to extend! Definitely not impressed! To be honest, they are money mad! When Jan went away for the weekend, she even rented out her room. See, money mad! In the end we were happy to be leaving!

A brand new adventure has well and truly begun. This time round, things have been a lot easier for us, the only problem is trying to find somewhere nice to stay! At least we are working and enjoying the city with our lovely 'Bounce Gang.'
