Oh My God!

With another visit to the airport for another flight, experts on flying is what we will be. Thankfully, I managed to get another exit seat with lots of leg room. For me it's pure heaven. Jason was a bit upset as they don't serve alcohol to you if you're sitting in one of these seats. Oh well! He will just have to get extra happy, drinking water!
Another bonus is that the airport is located in the main city area and is not too far from our hostel, 'OMG House.' Checking in, we were greeted by the lovely 'Luds.' The first thing she said to us 'It's basic accommodation. Don't expect a lot.' At least she is honest. A lot of people could learn from her honesty. She is definitely one of the nicest people we have found in Asia who doesn't see 'Dollar bill signs' when she sees us, unlike the rest of Asians. It's a family business that was set up with the passing of their beloved father. Nice to know that a negative can be pushed aside with a positive. Remember, there is always a silver lining!

Not feeling the best from a bad cold (Damn you AC), I forced myself to go on a little exploration down to the the marine area where we got some really nice food before we met up with our travel buddy 'Bayo' at 'Tiki Bar.' Myself and Jason caught a Tuk Tuk to the bar where the driver asked me with a straight face if Jason was my daughter! I know he can be a bit of a girl sometimes, but please, do I really look that old! Like Mrs Brown would say, 'That's niceeeeeeeeeee!' Time to move on and put it in the major incidents bag. Celebrating the Chinese new year, the bar had a live band that got the attention of the crowd including some very happy Chinese people who were enjoying their big day ringing in 'The year of the Monkey.'

Sometimes, getting to a place can be excruciating, especially when you have a crazy Asian driver that drives too fast and constantly uses his breaks to slow down. It may have been less than two hours but it was the worst journey I have experienced while being on 'The Big Adventure.' After a lot of motion sickness, we arrived at 'The Underground River,' which has been voted as one of 'The Modern Seven Wonders of the World.' There you go, another one ticked off the list. While there was a lot of waiting, all is forgiven as it was worth the wait. When you're in the cave there is such a strong spiritual feeling that connects you with the spiritual world. On the way back, we had to jump back in the boat for a short trip back to the main island that was supposed to take a couple of minutes through very rough seas, which ended up taking a lot longer as we were stuck for a good while, waiting for other boats in front of us to pass. That's another first, stuck in traffic on the sea. Now it's back to this crazy bus driver for our journey home!
After a day of adventures, myself, Jason and Bayo all met up at a local brewery for some really nice craft beers, which was only recently set up by a family. We had the whole place to ourselves where we enjoyed each other's company, and even that of the barman's.
In life, the people you meet, make it all worthwhile. A life without friendship is a life not lived! Hopefully some day we can revisit again and say hello to the lovely Luds!
