It's onwards and upwards as we jump in a plane and head all the way over to Malaysia. It was very funny, going through the bag checks, security pulled Jason to one side as they found something suspicious in his bag. Luckily enough, he wasn't detained! The two of us were a little bit nervous flying after the two Malaysia Airline crashes that tragically occurred only recently. Thankfully, we arrived safely. It was definitely the easiest flight I have ever been on. Everything went so smoothly! Before we knew it, we had arrived in Malaysia! Our first stop without the wonderful Kathrin. 'That's so sad!' When we eventually arrived in the city, we weren't too impressed as it seemed quite dirty, but luckily enough, that was only a small part of the city. After spending ages trying to find somewhere, we eventually decided to check into 'The Reggae Mansions' which was strongly recommended by the lovely Lucy and Liam who we met in Thailand. It was definitely a great recommendation. A little bit on the pricey side compared to most, but a really nice place. It's definitely a higher standard than most hostels, even hotels. Up in the dorm, each bed has it's own private area, blocked off by a curtain. They even have a cool rooftop bar. Checking the news, I was horrified to learn that there was another plane crash that day in Nigeria. What has the world become? It was so nice to be able to just chill up at the bar after long day of travelling. Myself and Jason took full advantage of a really tasty BBQ. I guess we better get used to them for when we go to Oz! The following morning we woke up to the horror that the lovely Melinda, our blue bag, who had treated us so well, was viciously attacked by a hungry rat! Poor Melinda was left with a hole in her. The poor thing. She was traumatised by the whole experience. I'm not sure if she will ever get over it! KL is a really nice city to walk around. Myself and Jason discovered a museum all about the history and future of the country, from the British colonial days to independence to the modern city KL has become. It was all very interesting. Right beside there was a huge flag pole that used to have the 'Union Jack' flying at full mast. Now of course in its place is the Malaysian flag! In front of the flag pole was 'The Victoria Fountain' which dates back to The Queen Victoria years. It's 'Really Really Nice!' After a bit more exploring and with very tired legs it was only right that we stop off at 'The KL Tower' for a spot of afternoon tea! When we arrived, we were driven to the top of the hill to it. In the bus with us was a father and son. I'm sorry, but I've never met anyone as dumb as them. The father was definitely dumber than the son! I'm only being honest! Luckily for us, it was only only a two minute journey. Thank God! A few minutes later and we were enjoying afternoon tea in the tower with stunning views of the whole city. It wasn't just an ordinary restaurant, no no, it was an exclusive revolving restaurant. How lovely is that? It was definitely a hard way to spend an afternoon, but unfortunately, somebody has to do it! After our tough afternoon, we went in search of the stunning 'Petronas Twin Towers.' And stunning they were. We were even entertained by a stunning water show at the back of the towers which was synced to music. Dubai definitely copied the Petronas! One of the best things about the capital is the transport. It's so easy and cheap to great around. Myself and Jason went to see the famous 'Batu Caves.' It was definitely worth the two train rides up to the Indian Shrine. The first cave we visited had only been newly opened to the public. Inside were life sized models depicting different stories. It was really well done. I think that was my favourite part of the whole area. To get to the the main cave, you have to climb up over 300 steps. You could say it was good exercise! Halfway up there was a woman unconscious probably due to the stifling heat and the physical exhaustion of having to climb up so many steps. The cave was nice. The highlight were seeing all the monkeys coming down the hill for feeding. It was very cute. At the bottom of the hill was a hen, yes a hen. How random is that? Later, we went in search of some great food in 'Little India' AKA 'Brickfields.' Unfortunately, our search was done in vain. What we found was far from good. I wouldn't even give it to my dog! Honestly, it was one of the worst meals we have had so far! Don't worry, we managed to finish the day good with a nice trip to the cinema to see ' Hercules.' Definitely a nice way to end our trip to the big city. Would we visit this place again. Yes we would, but only passing through!
